The Story Behind the Clay: How Lihi Created Ya Albi Pottery
It all began during her studies at Bezalel Academy, where a ceramic design course sparked a curiosity she didn’t expect — the kind that lingers long after the class ends.
Later, while studying interior design, she shifted between creative spaces and studios, always sensing an attraction to material, shape, and expression through form.
Six years ago, she attended her first pottery class.
“After that first session, I knew,” she says.
“I knew this was where I belonged — that I would become a ceramic artist for the rest of my life.”
Today, Lihi creates from her home studio, Ya Albi, based in Beit Berl.
Her work blends functionality with artistic presence — vases, mugs, bowls, plates —
each piece carefully shaped by hand, slowly and intentionally, making every item truly one-of-a-kind.
Every piece from Ya Albi carries its own personality:
layered glazes, organic lines, earthy textures, and the subtle marks that only human hands can create.
